What do I need to apply for Sable products?

To open a Sable account you only need the following things:

  1. Your SSN information

Or if you don't have an SSN, then the following will be required:

  1. Your Passport
  2. Your U.S. Address
  3. Your U.S. Visa or Non-Tourist I94 entry of your US visit


You will need to scan your passport using the app when you're applying for an account. You will need your original passport, we don't accept photocopies or previously scanned images.

US Address

You need to have a Residential US Address to open an account. This is a regulatory requirement. We will automatically ship your card to the address you provided.

Your Visa or valid I94 entry into the US (for non-US Citizens)

If you are not a US citizen, we will ask for a second document. This will be the US visa attached to your passport If you don't have a US Visa, that is probably because you entered the US with a visa waiver (e.g. a TN Visa or an ESTA). In this case, select the I-94 option and we will verify your visa waiver electronically.

Your SSN (if you have one)

If you have a Social Security Number, you’re required to provide it for verification purposes.

Why do you ask for these documents?

We have to make sure that you are opening the account and it is not someone using your identity. This is for your safety as well as to comply with US regulations.

I am new and don’t have a credit history in the US. Can I still apply for Sable’s products?

Absolutely! Our products are especially made so that you can enjoy higher credit limits even when you don’t have a US credit history.

When will I receive my Sable cards?

Your physical Sable cards are automatically shipped to the address you signed up with once you complete your onboarding and your account is opened.

The cards will be shipped via USPS in your name and will say MTL card on the envelope. Please note we do not receive tracking information for these cards but they will be dropped into your mailbox. If you signed up for both the Sable Debit and Credit Cards, please note that each card will be shipped in a separate envelope and may arrive a few days apart.

Your virtual cards are available to you immediately once you sign up and can be accessed in the app. You can start spending with the virtual cards even while you wait to receive your physical cards in the mail!

How can I add funds to my Sable account from the United States?

If you are sending money from within the United States, you can send a direct deposit or wire transfer.

Direct deposit (also called ACH) is usually free but can take longer to be credited.

You can choose to link your personal bank account for ACH/Direct Deposit transfers if the service is available at your other financial institution, but this is only possible if you are sending money from your personal non-Sable US Bank Account. Your bank account may be referred to as a checking account for setting up transfers or direct deposit.  You may be asked to verify your account through micro-deposits after which you will be able to easily send or request money to/from your Sable account by accessing your linked bank’s website or app.

Wire transfers typically process within a day, but may cost more. Check with your bank to get the exact processing times and costs.

To issue a direct deposit or wire transfer, go to your bank or online banking and provide the following information:

  • Beneficiary Name: Your Name
  • Beneficiary Address: Your Address (Mandatory for Wire Transfers)
  • ACH/ABA Routing number: e.g. 125109019
  • Account number: e.g. 8814442233

(check your own account and routing number in the Sable App by clicking on "See Details" in the Overview Screen)

You might also need the following details to make the transfer:

  • Bank name: Coastal Community Bank
  • Bank address: 5415 Evergreen Way, Everett, WA  98203

Your bank might also ask for the recipient address - this is your US address. It is important to provide the same address that we have on file for your Sable account

How to fund your account from outside the United States?

There are two options for you to fund your account with funds from outside the US:

1) Wise

How to fund your account with Wise?

  • When you initiate the transfer, you will need to enter the following details into Wise.
  • Payee Name: your own name
  • Routing number: you can see this in the app (125109019)
  • Account number: you can see this in the app
  • Wise will also ask for "recipient address" - this is your US address

2) International wire transfer

How to fund your account using International wire transfer?

ATTENTION: We accept international wire transfers only from specific countries. Check if your country is on our list of approved countries for incoming wires.

You need to enter correspondent bank details:

  • Beneficiary/Correspondent Bank SWIFT: PCBBUS66
  • Beneficiary/Correspondent Bank Name: Pacific Coast Banker’s Bank
  • Beneficiary/Correspondent Bank address: 1676 N. California Blvd, Suite 300, Walnut Creek, CA 94596

You need to enter beneficiary details:

  • Beneficiary Account Number: 125109019
  • Beneficiary Name : Coastal Community Bank
  • Beneficiary Address : 5415 Evergreen Way, Everett, WA 98203

You need to add your Sable Account Information to the details / message field (for transfers initiated from India this may be shown as the student ID/reference ID field):

  • Payee Name: your name
